Note(s):
*Students who plan to transfer to CBU are encouraged to complete POLS 1030 . Students who plan to transfer to UTK are encouraged to complete ECON 2100 .
**Students who plan to transfer to UTK are encouraged to complete one U.S. History course as part of this requirement. Students who plan to transfer to MTSU are encouraged to complete a World History course. APSU requires students to complete one World History course. Students who plan to transfer to UoM must complete a sequence (either HIST 1110/1120 or HIST 2010 /HIST 2020 .
***UTK recommends that students complete Astronomy for the non-Biology with lab requirements.
****Students who plan to transfer to APSU must take an Education Psychology course. Students who plan to transfer to ETSU are encouraged to take Developmental Psychology or Educational Psychology.
*****Students who plan to transfer to UTC are required to take a Physical Science course.
Students earning an AST degree must meet the following additional degree requirements:
- Attainment of a 2.75 cumulative grade point average (GPA)
- ACT composite score of 21 (or SAT score of 1080) or higher or successful completion of approved standardized examination (Praxis Core) for admission to the university's College of Education.
- Satisfactory ratings on an index of suitability for the teaching profession (disposition forms).
- Students transferring to a public university of Tennessee may need to meet additional requirements to gain admittance to the university.
Check the website www.tntransferpathway.org to review Elementary Education K-5 notes for required courses based on transfer university. Students should meet with their assigned advisor to determine courses required for the university chosen.
Students and advisors should run a degree audit using Degree Works in ChargerNet each semester to confirm classes are applicable to the program of study.
