Programs of Study (A-Z)

Columbia State offers three degree programs designed to transfer to a baccalaureate program:

  • Associate of Arts (A.A.)
  • Associate of Science (A.S.)
  • Associate of Science in Teaching (A.S.T.)

All of the transfer programs have a major of either Tennessee Transfer Pathway or University Parallel.  Within these majors there are many advising information sheets shown below.  Find your university major of interest and click on the related discipline to see the program requirements to earn an associate degree and then transfer to a university.

Tennessee Transfer Pathway:  These degrees are guaranteed that all required community college courses will be accepted in this major at the transfer institution.  To see which four-year institutions offer these TTP majors, visit the Tennessee Transfer Pathway website.

University Parallel: These degrees are for students who plan to transfer into university baccalaureate programs that do not have a Tennessee Transfer Pathway, and therefore; may not be fully transferable.

Columbia State also offers programs designed to lead to employment:

  • Associate of Applied Science: These degrees are not transferable; they are designed for students who wish to move directly into the job market after graduation.
  • Technical Certificate: These certificates are designed to allow students to gain entry-level proficiency in specific skills.
