MATH 1010 - Math for General Studies

Mathematics as applied to real-life problems selected from such topics as logic, set theory, consumer mathematics, statistics, probability, counting methods of apportionment, and voting schemes. This course is designed to expand the student's appreciation of how mathematics applies to quantitative problems that originate in many fields, and the student will learn strategies for solving some of these problems. Corequisite(s) or Prerequisite(s): (A) Prerequisite: 19 Math ACT or satisfactory placement test scores or successful completion of Learning Support Mathematics OR (B) Co-requisite enrollment in MATH 0010 - Learning Support for MATH 1010 .
