CIS 116 - Introduction to the Internet

This course is designed to introduce the student to the use of the Internet. Major topics include electronic mail, file transfer protocol, and accessing and searching remote systems via Telnet, Gopher, and World Wide Web. Students will utilize both text-based and graphics-based systems. Students will be given access to Internet for the duration of the class.

(Prerequisite: CIS 109 or permission of the instructor.)

One hour lecture plus one to two hours lab work outside of class time.
