Academic Calendar


This calendar is subject to change at any time prior to or during an academic term due to emergencies or causes beyond the reasonable control of the institution, including severe weather, loss of utility services, or orders by federal or state agencies.

Fall Semester 2010
January 1 - August 20   Apply for admission for Fall 2010 semester. The earlier you apply the greater your opportunity of getting the classes you want and obtaining aid if eligible before classes start. The earlier you apply the greater your chances of success.
April 12 - August 24   Registration for Fall 2010 available in myChargerNet for all admitted students. Register early to ensure class availability.
July 30   Priority Financial Aid Processing for Fall 2010. If your financial aid is not complete by this date, you must be prepared to pay your tuition and fees by the payment deadline to maintain your class schedule. How do I apply for financial aid? Can I apply after July 30?All required financial aid documents must be received in order for financial aid to be processed prior to the Fall payment deadline.
August 18   Tuition/Fee payment and confirmation of schedule due before 4:00 p.m. for all registered students for Fall 2010. Students will be deleted from classes for non-payment of fees.
August 19   No Registration
August 20   Last Day to Submit Application for Admission
August 20   Registration resumes
August 23   Faculty Report – All offices at all campuses will be closed. Online registration only available on this day.

October 20 - December 10   Current students are encouraged to see an advisor to select classes for the Spring 2011 semester. Who is My Advisor? Students who schedule and meet with their advisor are more successful with their studies and degree completion.
November 5   Last Day to Drop, Withdraw or Change to Audit for Regular Session and RODP classes
November 8 - 14   Spring 2011 Priority Registration for currently enrolled students.

Spring Semester 2011

January 1   Start applying for or renewing your financial aid by completing the 2011-2012 Federal Financial Aid Application (FAFSA). TSAA grants will be awarded to eligible applicants until funds are depleted.
January 3   Last Day to Submit Application for Admission
January 3   Financial Aid Appeals are due by 4:00 p.m.
January 4   Tuition/Fee payment and confirmation due before 4:00 p.m. for Spring 2011 registered students. Financial Aid students MUST confirm their enrollment. Students will be removed from classes for non-payment/confirmation.
January 5   No Registration
January 5   Faculty Report
January 6  

Last day to register without incurring a late fee. Register and pay before 6:00 p.m. at any campus location.

January 6   Financial Aid Appeals Committee will meet at 9:00 a.m. You can view your appeal status after 1:00 p.m. on your myChrgerNet. You will be notified in writing regarding the outcome of your appeal. If your appeal is denied, you will need to contact the Business Office to pay your bill.
January 10   All office at all campuses will be closed. Online registration only available on this day.
January 11   Last day to register and pay to be enrolled for the Spring 2011 semester. Registered students check schedules for cancelled classes on myChargerNet or check your email for a cancelled class list. Students receiving financial aid may begin charging books for Spring 2011. (RODP books cannot be charged to your financial aid.)

February 2   Financial Aid will disburse funds to the Business Office based on attendance reported and number of hours enrolled. Please note that disbursements for short-term and Hybrid classes will be made once the class begins and attendance has been reported.

March 15   Columbia State scholarship deadline for 2011-2012. Some scholarships require that the FAFSA be completed prior to this date.

April 15   Priority processing of financial aid begins for Fall 2011. Please note that you need to complete your FAFSA for 2011-2012 by April 15. This is the priority date for applying for fall semester financial assistance. After this date, financial aid will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis as long as money is available. It is to your advantage to apply early.
April 29   Classes End
April 30   Last day to complete financial aid files and applications for Spring 2011.

Classes are offered during multiple terms of four weeks, five weeks, and ten weeks in the summer to allow flexible schedules for students. Carefully review the dates listed in the class schedule for each class to ensure that you are able to attend the entire term. The following table shows begin and end dates for each term:
